I’d like to share the latest artwork I created in 2025.
I was tasked with updating and modernizing the clan coat of arms of the Bashynskyi family, which depicts Samson tearing apart the lion’s jaws. Interestingly, the client was my former classmate Oleg — we studied together for two years in high school.
One of the first sketches I made was generally based on the poses and positioning of Samson and the lion. However, during the process, we discovered other historical versions of the coat of arms and agreed on one that had been more widely used in previous centuries.
The main goal was to preserve all the essential heraldic elements and the traditional color scheme, while presenting everything in a classical graphic style.
It was a very engaging task. While working on it, I gained a much deeper understanding of heraldry and its stylistic principles, and I also learned the histories of several Polish noble families.
I would gladly take on similar projects in the future — it was truly fascinating work. 🙂
